Costa Rica Business Visa Checklist

VISA NOTES & FEES

  1. 1. Passport: Original passport with a validity of at least six months on the day of arrival to Costa Rica and minimum two blank pages for visa stamp. a) Copy of all the pages of the Passport b) Attach all your old passports (if any)
  2. 2. Costa Rica visa application form : One visa application form to be duly filled and signed by the applicant.
  3. 3. Photo Specification: One recent camera clicked passport sized colored photographs on a white background with 80% face cover on a matt or semi-matt finished paper (35mm x 45mm) Please note: Photograph should not be more than 3 months old,scanned/stapled and should not be used in any of the previous visas.
  4. 4. Covering Letter : Covering Letter on company letter head stating applicant's full name, nationality, passport number, type & validity, address, purpose and duration of visit, approximate dates of arrival &departure,expected port of entry and exit, occupation, address in Costa Rica, date & place of birth, fax or email address for notifications. The letter should be duly signed by authorized signatory and has to be addressed to 'The Visa Officer, Honorary Consulate General of Costa Rica, New Delhi'
  5. 5. Invitation Letter: An Original invitation letter from Costa Rica, stating that the company will be responsible for the departure of the applicant before the visa expires. a) Copy of the ID of the person signing the invitation letter
  6. 6. Financials: a) Original personal bank statement with bank's seal and signature for last 6 months with sufficient balance. b) Personal ITR for 3yrs c) Original Salary Slip for the last 3 months with company stamp. Please Note : If the expense of trip is borne by the company or by someone else, then that Company's or that person's Bank Statement of last 6 months has to be provided.

Proof of Occupation Self Employed a) Company Registration Certificate / Certificate of Incorporation / Proof of Proprietorship / Partnership Deed b) Brief Company Profile c) Articles of Memorandum (Incase the applicant is MD/Director) Employed a) Original Letter from the employer stating applicant's name, net & gross salary, years of service and position in the company, bank account details. b) Letter from the employing company (original document), stating the reason of the trip and who will be responsible of its payment. c) Original bank statement of last six months with bank's seal & stamp. d) Last 3 months salary slips. Note: 1- If the expense of trip is borne by the Company or someone else, then please present that Company's or that person's bank statement (last 6 months) 2- Registration certificate of the Indian company duly apostilled by MEA) and its official spanish translation(duly apostilled by MEA)
  8. 8. Airline Reservation : Round trip Ticket Itinerary (maximum 30 days between arrival and departure of Costa Rica) Please Note: The travel dates mentioned on the covering letter, Invitation letter & air ticket should be same.
  9. 9. CERTIFICATES: 1- PCC : Police Clearance Certificate (duly apostilled by Ministry of External Affairs) and its official translation into Spanish (duly apostilled by Ministry of External Affairs) Note - PCC must be issued from regional passport office . 2- Marriage Certificate: Marriage certificate and a copy of both sides (duly apostilled by Ministry of External Affairs) and its official translation into Spanish (duly apostilled by Ministry of External Affairs)
  10. 10. Accommodation Proof : Proof of stay in Costa Rica.
  11. 11. Please Note: a) All documents must be presented in English or Spanish or come with an official translation in order to be processed by the Consular Section of the Embassy. All presented documents will be kept by the Embassy for the records. Original document must be accompanied by its copy. b) We will arrange for an appointment for the personal interview. This usually takes about a week. The applicant will have to go to the embassy once he/she receives a call from the embassy. c) If the applicant holds a multiple entry visa (business/tourism) to USA OR Canada, he/she can stay in Costa Rica for maximum 30 days with any of aforesaid visas. However, the visa must be valid till the last day of his / her stay in Costa Rica.
  12. 12. **Please note that the Embassy takes 30 working days to analyze the visa application, make sure that all the documents presented are updated till another 15 working days.
  13. 13. The Visa issued is Single Entry. It must be used on the first 60 days after the date of issue, and allows the holder to stay in Costa Rica for a maximum of 30 days; however, the actual number of days will be determined by the Immigration officer at arrival.
  14. 14. Important Note - Applicants are advised to check the below link to know whether Yellow Fever Certificate is required or not. Vaccination requirements and recommendations for International Travelers . Health regulation for passengers leaving India:- There is no health check requirement by Indian Government on passengers leaving India. However, persons leaving for a yellow fever infected area are advised in their own interest to get themselves vaccinated and to be possession of valid yellow fever vaccination certificates before they leave the country.
