Finland Visit Visa Checklist

VISA NOTES & FEES

1. Passport: Original Passport with the validity of minimum three months and minimum two blank pages for visa stamping. Please note a) Passports issued beyond 10 years will not be accepted by the Embassy. b) Attach copy of first & last page and observation page (if any) is present on the Passport. c) Attach all old passports (if any). d) Handwritten passports will not be accepted.
2. Schengen Visa Application Form:visa application form has to be filled Online by the applicant through the following link :https://www.vfsvisaonline.com/OnlineVaf-Finland?Country=en+xtw40644WkxUiBRxd8Q== . Please note : Applicant's mobile number should be mentioned in visa form as Embassy / Consulate can contact the applicant at any point of time during visa processing.
3. Photo Specification: Two recent passport size photographs with matt or semi matt finish, 60%-80% face coverage, white background and without border (Size: 35mm x 45mm) Please note: Photograph should not be more than 3 months old,scanned/stapled and should not be used in any of the previous visas.
4. Covering Letter : Covering-letter from applicant stating his name, designation, passport number, purpose & duration of the visit. The letter should be duly signed by the applicant and addressed to– The Visa Officer, Embassy of Finland , New Delhi.
5. Invitation letter: An Invitation letter from the invitee stating the applicant's name, passport number, address, contact details and purpose & duration of visit. The letter should be duly signed by the invitee with his name, contact details and address. Please Note: a) Proof of relationship has to be submitted along with the invitation letter. If relationship proof is unavailable, an explanation of the same has to be mentioned in the invitation letter. b) Invitee’s passport copy along with the copy of last three months bank statements has to be submitted. c) If the invitee is not a Finnish citizen, a copy of the invitee’s passport showing the permit he/she has to stay in Finland. Please Note: Embassy might ask for additional Proof of Sufficient Funds.
6. Financials: If Employed a) Copy of Personal ITR for last 3yrs. b) Copy of Salary slip for the last six months c) Original Bank Statement for last six months with Bank Seal and Sign. Note :Bank statement Should be on A4 Size Paper. d) Credit Card copy/Foreign Exchange endorsement/Traveler’sCheque If Self Employed a) Copy of Personal & Company ITR for last 3yrs. b) Copy of Personal & Company Bank Statement for last six months stating applicant's name along with the Bank’s name and Telephone Number. c) Credit Card copy/Foreign Exchange endorsement/Traveler’s Cheque.
7. Proof of Occupation: Self Employed a) Copy of Company Registration Certificate / Certificate of Incorporation / Proof of Proprietorship / Partnership Deed. b) Brief Company Profile c) Articles of Memorandum (Incase the applicant is MD/Director) Employed a) Copy of Appointment Letter and NOC from Employer. b) Copy of the company ID card. Student a) Leave Sanction Letter from School b) Parents have to provide ITR, Bank statement and NOC letter.
8. Proof of Accommodation : Hotel confirmation for the entire period of stay in Schengen area. Please Note: Hotel should match the ticket dates and maximum stay should be in Finland.
9. Airline Reservation : Ticket Confirmation. Please Note: The travel dates should be after 12 working days from the date of submission of application.
10. Medical : Copy of Medical Insurance for the stay duration amounting to 30,000 Euros.The validity of the travel insurance must be at least 15 days longer than the period of stay and must cover the whole Schengen territory.Insurance has to be done by the Authorized Insurance Companies .
11. New Procedure for Schengen Visa Applications: With immediate effect, Indian citizens travelling to Schengen countries for short-term (max 90 days in 180 days) will have to visit VFS visa application centre personally to provide biometric data (fingerprints and digital photograph). For subsequent applications within next 5 years the biometric data will be copied from the previous visa application included in the VIS.
