Ethiopia Transit Visa Checklist

VISA NOTES & FEES

  1. 1. Passport: Original Passport with validity of minimum six months and minimum two blank pages for visa stamp. Attach all your old passports (if any) a) Valid visa of final destination
  2. 2. Ethiopia Visa Application Form : One visa application form duly filled and signed.
  3. 3. Photo Specification: One recent passport size coloured photographs with matt or semi matt finish, 60%-80% face coverage, white background and without border (Size: 35mm x 45mm) Please note: Photograph should not be more than 3 months old , scanned/stapled and should not be used in any of the previous visas (You can use the same photograph which you have used to get Destination Visa)
  4. 4. Covering Letter: Covering Letter from the applicant on the company’s letter head stating applicant’s name, designation, passport number,purpose and duration of visit. The letter should be addressed to: The Visa Officer, Embassy of the Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia, New Delhi.
  5. 5. Ticket : Confirmed ticket reservation proving the transit port of entry is Ethiopia
  6. 6. Medical: a) Original YFC (Yellow Fever Certificate) has to be submitted along with the visa application & applicant has to carry the same at the time of travel. b) Applicant should have completed a full course of vaccination against Polio, preferably with Oral Polio Vaccine (OPV), and should receive an additional dose of OPV at least six weeks before each international journey. The Validity of a full course of vaccination will be one year.
  7. 7. Please Note : Transit visa is not required if applicant is not exiting the airport.
